Privacy policy

This policy explains what information Billwise (invoice-pdf-maker-app.web.app) handles when you make an invoice, estimate, quote or receipt with it. The short version: the document you fill in never leaves your device, there is no account, there are no ads and no third-party trackers, and we keep only anonymous page statistics.

Your invoices, clients and logo stay on your device

The invoice generator is a program that runs inside your browser. Everything you type into it (your business details, your client's name and address, line items, prices, tax rates, notes and bank details) is processed on your device. The PDF is built by your browser too, so the document is never uploaded to us or to anyone else, and we cannot see it.

To save you retyping, the tool keeps a draft of the document you are working on in your browser's local storage on this device. If you add a logo, the image is read by your browser and kept in the same local storage; it is never sent to a server and it is never put into a shareable link. Pro features such as saved clients, saved line items, automatic invoice numbers and the invoice history are stored the same way, in local storage on the device where you use them.

Copy link puts the document's text fields (not the logo) into the part of the address after the #. Browsers do not send that part to the web server, but anyone you give the link to can read the document, so share it only with people who should see it.

You can delete everything the tool has stored by clearing this site's data in your browser settings. Because nothing is kept on our side, we cannot restore a draft, a client list or an invoice history you have deleted, and we cannot move it to another device for you.

Anonymous usage statistics

When a page loads, a small first-party script records an event with the site name, the page path, the referring page (origin and path only, no query string), the event type, a timestamp and a random visit identifier. The event types are: a page view, using the tool (sent at most once per page view), a click on a checkout button, opening the Pro dialog and joining the Pro early-access list. The visit identifier is generated in your browser, kept in session storage (not a cookie), replaced every day and gone when you close the tab; it only lets us count distinct visits. The script sets no cookies and records nothing you type into the invoice. These events are stored in Google Cloud Firestore, operated by Google as our processor, and are used only to understand which pages are useful. Like any web request, the connection exposes your IP address to the hosting and storage providers; we do not store it in the events.

There are no advertising networks, no social media widgets, no third-party analytics and no tracking cookies on this site.

Pro early-access list

Nothing is stored about you when you open the Pro dialog. Only if you choose to join the early-access list do we store the e-mail address you enter, your optional answers (what would make Pro worth it and what you would pay), the site name, a timestamp and the random visit identifier, in Google Cloud Firestore. We use your address for one purpose only: to e-mail you when Pro launches, with the founder price. We do not send newsletters, sell or share the list, and the list cannot be read from the website. To be removed, contact us through the contact page.

Payments

Pro is not on sale yet, so the site takes no payments and handles no payment details. When Pro launches, checkout will happen on Stripe's secure pages and this section will describe what Stripe shares with us.

Hosting

The site is served by Google Firebase Hosting, which processes standard request data such as IP address and user agent to deliver pages and protect against abuse. Fonts, scripts and icons are served from the same domain; the pages load no code from other websites.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you. In practice that is limited to an early-access e-mail address and, once Pro is on sale, purchase and support records; your invoices are never in our hands. Contact us through the contact page and we will respond within 30 days.
